Tell us about your practice.
Our practice is represented at locations in Minden, Löhne and Lübbecke and offers comprehensive care in the areas of radiology, nuclear medicine and radiation therapy. We work with an experienced team of radiologists, nuclear medicine specialists and radiation oncology therapists and use modern technical equipment to ensure precise diagnosis and treatment.
At the main location in Minden, formerly Dr. Korten, we offer our entire range of services on three floors. These include diagnostic procedures such as MRI, CT, X-ray, angio/fluoroscopy, DXA, ultrasound and mammography. We also offer interventional radiology, radiation therapy and specialized competence centers for breast diagnostics and vascular medicine.
In addition, we work closely with the University Institute for Radiology, Neuroradiology and Nuclear Medicine at the Mühlenkreiskliniken, which also uses our state-of-the-art MRI machines in Lübbecke. Our patients can always rely on qualified, friendly care. We attach great importance to individual advice and the best possible care with the latest medical standards.

What motivated you to install a patient and referring physician portal?
The decision to install a patient and referring physician portal was motivated by the desire to make the exchange of radiological images more efficient and secure. In modern medicine, image data is crucial for diagnosis and further treatment. Through the portal, both patients and referring physicians can access important radiological images quickly and securely – regardless of their location.
For referrers, this means that they can view the results of examinations directly online, improving the speed of treatment and the quality of care. Patients benefit from direct access to their reports and images, which promotes transparency and understanding of their diagnosis. Overall, the portal helps to optimize the entire diagnostics and communication process and ensure the security of the data.

How would you rate the support during the project implementation?
We were part of the beta test for the CD importer from the beginning, which led to a close collaboration with the IT management. Thanks to this early start, we always had a direct line and were able to make quick decisions and rely on a quick solution to any problems that arose in the customer portal.

How does the patient and referring portal make your everyday practice easier?
The patient and referrer portal has made our everyday practice much easier, as the exchange of image data is now much quicker and easier. Previously, we had to burn and send CDs for each patient, which was not only time-consuming but also often led to delays. Today we can provide images directly online and provide patients with a QR code for login. This means both referrers and patients can access it immediately.
This saves us further effort as there is no need to burn CDs, no maintenance and no additional costs for CDs. Many steps run automatically in the background, resulting in shorter waiting times for patients and improving communication. Referring physicians can then view the images immediately without having to wait for the post or a CD, and patients also have quick access to their results. We are not currently transmitting findings via the portal, but we plan to do so in the future. Overall, the portal ensures significantly faster and more efficient collaboration, which has a positive effect on our entire workflow.

Which features do you particularly value?
We particularly appreciate the practical features such as the life-time code for patients. The lifetime code enables us to make their images and timely findings permanently accessible to patients so that they can access them at any time – without the risk of information being lost. This is not only great for the patients themselves, but also for complete documentation.
Another highlight is that all examinations are available at a glance on the platform. This ensures a quick overview, both for us and for the referrers.

Questions about easy2PACS

What challenges did you previously have when importing image data that easy2PACS solved for you?
Before introducing easy2PACS, we had a lot of manual effort when importing studies with QR codes. With easy2PACS we can now import these studies almost completely automatically. This not only saves us a lot of time, but also reduces the error rate and improves the efficiency of our workflow.

What specific benefits has the introduction of easy2PACS brought to your team and your patients?
The introduction of easy2PACS has brought several benefits for our team and our patients. A key advantage is the ability to import QR codes directly and automatically compare them with patient data. The easy2PACS user interface is very intuitive, which allows our team to work quickly and efficiently. In addition, the system can be fully administered, which offers us a lot of flexibility. There are also significantly fewer clicks when operating the user interface. However, we are still happy about small updates to the easy2PACS CD Importer, as the CD will continue to be used in everyday practice.

Were there any special functions of easy2PACS that were decisive for your decision to install it?
The decision for easy2PACS was primarily due to the recommendation of a well-known practice and the greater flexibility compared to other providers. The system was more adaptable to our needs and offered a more user-friendly solution.
